Skiing

Well, yesterday Mike and I went skiing with my Aunt and Uncle. I was so excited! I have tried snowboarding and wasn't very good at it. I thought that maybe I would do better skiing. Everything started out great. I got off the lift without falling..(YAY)..and started my way down the mountain. Luckily I had great teachers and they helped me catch on to skiing pretty quick.
Anyways, I'm heading down the mountain with my Aunt Kimmy and cousin Kylie...when all of a sudden I started going really fast! I panicked when I couldn't turn...so I just sat down to stop myself. Now...keep in mind...I'm used to snowboarding. When you snowboard and think you are going to fall you just sit down on your butt. I learned the hard way that you don't do that with skis on. I ended up flat on my back, feet stuck underneath me....sliding down the hill. I wasn't even stopping! I was laughing and screaming for my Aunt to help me. If you could have seen me it was HILARIOUS!! I couldn't even get my feet out of the skis..they had to come undo me. Anyways, I decided to sit down on the side for a minute and check for any damages. At first I thought I was okay..but when I tried to stand up I heard a "SNAP" in my knee. That was it...my Aunt flew down the mountain to ask for someone to come help me. Now, I just thought that they would bring a snowmobile up to grab me and bring me down. But I was HORRIBLY wrong! They had to put me on a gurney covered in blankets and a bright blue tarp! Then they skied me down the mountain for everyone to see! I have never been so MORTIFIED! They took me down to see the resort Dr. who did X-rays and all that fun stuff. He even had to pop my knee back into place while Mike held me down on the table. Turns out I ripped my meniscus. Ouch! That was it for me....no more skiing....I ended up spending the day in the lodge watching the rest of my family enjoy themselves. Oh well...I think it was totally worth it. I can't wait to go back and ski some more!

Christmas!

We had such a good Christmas this year! We started it out by going to my sister's house on Christmas Eve. We just love going over there. As soon as we get there Hunter runs off to play with his cousins. It was nice to be able to visit with my parents and Uncle Brad.
Christmas morning was a blast! My Aunt Kimmy and her family were staying with us for the holidays...So they got up bright and early with us to open presents. Hunter got SO many presents!! He was definitely spoiled by family and friends this year.
And to top everything off... I made a big turkey dinner for everyone! Well, my aunt and uncle did most of it...I'm not much of a cook. :)
Afterwards we celebrated Holly's 30 birthday. Yup...She was born on Christmas. She isn't much of a fan of cake...so I made her brownies instead! Enjoy the pictures!

Big Boy Bed

Yup....my baby is no longer a baby! Yesterday he figured out how to climb out of his crib. So, we decided it was best to turn it into a little toddler bed. He thinks he is pretty cool! Last night went pretty well. He only got out of bed twice. And slept in until 10:30am!! I still can't believe that my little guy is old enough to be out of a crib!

Temple Square

So, I finally decided that it was time to bundle up and head to Temple Square to enjoy the lights. I had been putting this off because of a memory I had there two years ago. Janet, A close friend of my family, (basically like a 2nd mom) came up with my mom and dad to attend my nephew's funeral. We ended up going to Temple Square to walk around and enjoy the lights. This was the last time I saw her. When she headed home to California the next day she decided to stop in NV for the night. And in her sleep she joined our Heavenly Father. Anyways, needless to say we were devastated. So, the thought of going back to Temple Square made my stomach turn. But I decided that Hunter would really enjoy it and I just needed to get past my anxiety.
We ended up going and having a wonderful time. It was sad at first....but Hunter's smiles and giggles made it all worth it.
Here are some pictures....Enjoy!
