The Joys of Being a Mother...

Okay...this blog is going to be kinda gross...but I have to tell the story....

I like to think that I'm a good mom for Hunter. But today was REALLY difficult. Hunter woke up with the stomach flu! My poor little baby! He started off the day by throwing up ALL over my kitchen floor. Then he decided that he was feeling much better and wanted to eat breakfast.
So, after waiting awhile I let him have a couple crackers and some milk. I watched him VERY closely for about and hour or so. He was doing fine! So, I just figured that maybe it was a fluke thing and he didn't have the flu.
So, my parents and I decided to head to South Jordan to run a few errands. Hunter was doing fine until we pulled into the first parking lot. He threw up EVERYWHERE!! My dad quickly pulled over and I hopped out of the car. By the time I ran over to Hunter's door he was done. I was covered, he was covered, and his car seat was covered in throw up. I looked at my mom and said, "What do I do now?!" She just laughed and said. "We clean up and head home". Easy for her to say.....she was dry!
So, with my parents help....I cleaned up Hunter and the car. But his car seat was SO bad! So, we decided to leave it in the trunk. Hunter sat on my lap the whole way home. I was so scared!! I hated that he couldn't be buckled in his car seat. But my dad said a prayer before we left the parking lot. So, I knew that we would be okay.
We finally made it home....but Hunter is still feeling pretty yucky. Mike came home and was finally able to put him to sleep. My poor little man....hopefully this is only a 24 hour thing!
Today I was really tested in the motherhood department. I stuck by my little man even though I wanted to run in the other direction!
Thanks Mom....for all the times you took care of me and cleaned up my throw up....I had no idea how hard that was. I Love You Mom!!!

National Guard

So, some of you don't know my brother-in-law. His name is Ron. (we call him Chip)
He's been living in Utah with us for almost a year now. Hunter LOVES having his Uncle Chippy around to play with! But yesterday Ron made a HUGE life decision. He joined the National Guard. My dad and I went to the base to see him sworn in. He leaves for boot camp and training Jan. 4th, and will be gone for 6 months! And by the end of next year he will be heading to Iraq. What are we going to do without him?! Mike and I are so proud of him! But our little family is really going to miss him.

He literally swore his life away!!! You gotta admit...He's got guts!!!

Baby Scottie

Today my mom and dad flew in from Southern Cali. We were so excited to have them visit again! We decided that we would go to Orem to visit my nephews grave. It's been awhile since we have been there. So, Holly and her two girls, my parents, and Hunter and I went and decorated his little headstone for Halloween. Scottie would have been two. He's the same age as my little Hunter. We miss him so much...but we know that he is happy in Heaven. Here are some pictures from the cemetary.

The kids eventually let go of the balloons so that Baby Scottie can play with them in Heaven. (How cute huh?!)

PaPa Craig playing in the leaves with Mikayla, Hunter, and little Aubrey! What an AWESOME grandpa!

Baby Scottie's headstone. Hopefully you can see his little picture in the corner. He was such a cute boy.

Hunter's 2nd Birthday!

My little baby is no longer a baby! I can't believe that he's already 2! Where did the time go?

Anyways, we took Hunter to Jungle Jim's for his birthday. The Mounts met us there and we let the kids go wild. Afterward we headed over to our house for cake and presents. Hunter had so much fun! He's such a sweet little boy! Enjoy the pics!

My Mom is the BEST!!!!

So....I don't even know where to start!

Well, my mom came up last Sunday to help me take care of the house and Hunter while I was recovering from surgery. She was AMAZING!!! She did everything. Laundry, dishes, diaper changing, dusting, and cleaning. She was also my personal nurse and assistant. When the Dr. forgot to give me my antibiotic....she was on the phone and had it taken care of. She would bring me a handful of pills every 4-6 hours and tell me swallow. Half the time I didn't even know what I was taking. But I was sure my mom did! Now all this stuff is fine and dandy...but what I'm about to tell you is even more amazing and wonderful.......

On Wed. morning we decided to pack Hunter in the car and go to Holly's house. But before we left my mom wanted to start a stew in the crock pot for dinner. While she was cutting and chopping she asked me if she could put carrot peelings down the disposal. I told her "sure".
So, naturally she did. About 20 minutes later we reali
zed that the sink was full of water and not draining....hmmmm....maybe the blade isn't turning. So, my mom sticks her hand down there (ewww) and feels around. Nope.....it's working fine. We decide to head to Holly's house and hope that the problem will fix itself.
Well, when we got home the problem was still there. So what does my wonderful mom do? She gets under the sink and starts to take things apart. I couldn't believe it. She knew what she was doing...she even knew the correct vocab for the piping and stuff. We laughed so hard. Water was everywhere!! But when she pulled out the second pipe...what fell out???? CARROTS!!! Hahahaha!!!!
Overall, my mom spent about 2 hours fixing and cleaning up my kitchen. I'm sorry ladies.....but I have the BEST MOM IN THE WORLD!!!

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP MOM!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!
